StockBury Dog Club
The club was formed in April 1993 as a result of a request by Mrs A Ballard of Stockbury to help train a litter of white German Shepherd puppies that she had bred. Over a period of weeks the pups transformed into well behaved dogs. During this time the club was mentioned in Stockbury and Sittingbourne and very soon other dog owners attended and we began a weekly training programme. I agreed to the formation of the club on the condition that the monies raised be donated to Hearing Dogs for the Deaf charity but after two years this was broadened to include small local animal charities.
To date we have donated over £63,000 to local animal charities.
We now have our own website, which shows our activities past and present and also the various breeds we have seen training.
We are registered with the Kennel Club as a listed club for the Good Citizen Dog Scheme and offer the Puppy Foundation Course. We encourage owners to respect their dogs and ensure their health and wellbeing. Training takes place on Sunday mornings on the field at the rear of Stockbury Village Hall, from 10 til 11 am. All weekly payments and donations go to charities after payment of the field hire and insurance. All trainers give their time free of charge.
We are proud to be a non-profit club that helps animals in need.
