Di Youdale
I joined Stockbury Dog Club with Gus my GSD for puppy traiing in 2005. We progressed through the training groups to an advanced level, including taking part in the display team. I had another GSD Siggy who was very hyperactive and agile, so a club trainer suggested agility training. It required commitment and discipline from both myself and my dog. We successfully progressed from Grade 1 to 4, winning may trophies, an impressive feat for a large dog. That learning helped underpin my knowledge and understanding of getting the best from your dog throught reward and praise. Which was also the ethos taught by Mick Bingham who founded Stockbury Dog Club and to whom I owe so much for his own teachings and shared experiences. Initially I trained the puppy group and with the help of Mick, introduced the Kennel Club Good Citizen Puppy Award training.
